how the forge works

1. Start from a shelf template

   Six finished scenes are waiting. Load one, then bend it until it sounds like you. The template only changes the canvas, never your saved history.

2. Everything is a layer

   Mortimer himself is a layer, so are his eyes, his tiny tee and that suspicious coin. Reorder them, flip them, stack three hats. Nobody is checking.

3. Captions render on the canvas

   Two lines, four typefaces, live colour and tracking. Long lines wrap and shrink on their own so the words never fall off the frame. autofit() does the worrying.

4. Put your own picture behind him

   Panel 01 takes any image off your phone or disk and crops it square behind the toad, so Mortimer can sit on your chart, your ceiling, your ex-employer’s slide deck. The file is read with FileReader inside this tab. There is no upload, no server, and no request leaves the page, which is also why the picture cannot travel inside a shared link.

5. Four ways out, depending on where it is going

   Download PNG writes a flat 1080 square. Copy image puts the same PNG straight on the clipboard, so it can be pasted into a post without ever touching your downloads folder. Sticker 512 drops the background entirely and exports a 512 square with a real alpha channel, which is exactly what @Stickers on Telegram asks for. If a browser refuses the clipboard, the copy button quietly falls back to a download rather than failing at you.

6. A link that arrives still editable

   Copy link packs the whole scene, every layer position, rotation, skin and both caption lines, into the address itself. No image is uploaded and no id is stored anywhere, because the entire drawing fits in about three hundred characters of URL. Whoever opens it lands on your composition with every slider still live, and their own saved canvas is left alone until they change something.

7. The canvas belongs to you

   Every export is drawn locally, and your last canvas is kept in this browser so you can come back mid thought. Sixty steps of undo sit behind CtrlZ. Nothing here is counted, measured, or sent to anybody.

Mouse wheel over the canvas scales the selected part. On a phone, use the size and spin sliders in panel 04.
